state
1. - Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
2. - And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
3. - For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
4. - Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
5. - As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
6. - Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
7. - But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
8. - For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
9. - Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
10. - All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord:
11. - Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
12. - And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
